Doodling Attempt...

Mum said to give the 'doodle on a picture' thingy a try. So here is my strange attempt. It was supposed to be an eye, but once I had finished it, I noticed that I had drawn the tear on up-side-down! I guess you could say that the tear is falling upwards... Kind of strange though. Well, I don't think I'll be doing anymore of these drawings as they're not really my thing.

More FMQ!

This is my attempt at really small stippling, pebbles and mctavishing. It took me ages, but it was worth it. Up close, the stitches aren't really that crash-hot. But I'm improving, slowly...Very slowly. Here is another picure of the stippling and pebbles close up... See what I mean when I say that they're not really that crash hot...?

FMQ

It's not the best piece of machine quilting ,I know... But I'm really pleased with it. Mum showed me how to bury the ends so now whenever I want to machine quilt, I won't need any help!!
I am now an independent free motion quilter! YAY!

Carrot Cake

These are the first Carrot cakes that I have ever made. In the process of making them, I dropped an egg on the floor,( Our dog happily ate it!) which was the second last egg so i had to get it right the next time. Finally when they were cooked, we tasted them... I read that it's bad manners to say 'yum' when commenting on your own food... But... "YUM!"

poems and stories

Okay, mum has told me to blog all of my poems so I'll probably put up one every week or so...
Here is one I wrote a few weeks ago...
(It hasn't got A title because I felt that it didn't really need one and when i tried to think of a title, I couldn't really find one that fitted... Any suggestions would be GREAT!!!!)

Words plaster the ceiling like fairy floss on a childs fingers,
Fate swirls around the room like seaweed in a current,
Hope hovers in front of the window like a wasp on a humid day,
And destiny swallows them all like a starving animal presented with love.

Imagination runs wilder than a brumby,
dreams fly higher than the clouds,
failures sink lower than the sea bed,
And nothing forces them to do this.

Shoot for the moon,
For even if you miss...

You shall land amoung the stars.

This took me about two whole hours to quilt, but I like the finished piece.
This is my second piece of machine quilting, so my little stack of samples is
 growing!

This is my very first piece of machine quilting.  Mum asked me read the Diane Gaudynski book before I started sewing. Im glad she did I learnt a lot from them!

This is me learning from Mum how to machine quilt! it's definitely not as easy as I thought it was, but Mum's a good teacher, so that helps a lot... :)

Shining Bright

Shining Bright is my first quilt that I have yet to finish...
I started it four years ago!! At the moment I am hand quilting it, (1/4" seams) and am about half way. I had a bit of help from Mum and Liz when I was machining it together, but since then it has been all my own work.

Quilted Diamonds

(From left to right)
QD2 #80 A most attractive picture of happiness. Variation.
QD2 #60 An air of good sense.
QD2 #79 A rational creature speaking the truth from her heart.

More diamonds

In addition to the 19 diamonds that I have already sewn, I now have another  20. (Thanks to mum's encouragment and Liz's own similar quilt, Field of Diamonds, which can be viewed at http://www.lizardofoz.com.au/ )

Inklingo Insanity Quilt

After much thought, Mum and I decided that we would combine our efforts and both sew the Insanity Quilt. Mum has sewn some with white centers, and I have sewn the ones with coloured centers. Now, however, we are going to to a random colour in the middle. There may be some delay though, seeing as Mum has got to finish both her POTC Quilt as well as an Almost Insane Quilt!

English Piecing

I have recently started some english paper piecing, with it I am hoping to complete an insanity quilt. However, part way through sewing the quilt, mum discovered inklingo! So, now I am working on another insantiy quilt, Inklingo style!
